Launching new initiatives in Sustainable Finance

28.05.2025

On May 22, E4S hosted a Sustainable Finance Action Lab at IMD, bringing together over 35 leaders from academia, finance, NGOs, and policy to design collaborative projects tackling current challenges in sustainable finance.

In just one morning, five concrete project ideas emerged:
1️⃣ Climate-Aligned Portfolios: Developing a multi-level model to integrate climate risk into portfolio construction and monitoring.
2️⃣ SDGs & Investment Performance: Assessing the contribution of SDGs to investment performance to inform investment and policy decisions.
3️⃣ Accelerating Green Finance: Starting with heat pump investments in Geneva and scaling to Vaud—addressing systemic roadblocks to deploy local impact finance.
4️⃣ Financing the Social Sector: Exploring new tools and diagnostics to help NGOs shift from grant-based to revenue-generating models.
5️⃣ Data for Impact: Designing a dashboard for ESG and supply chain data quality—to enhance transparency and reduce greenwashing.

Many thanks to the participants for their energy and engagement! And a special thank you to Pictet and Retraites Populaires for their support in creating this Action Lab !

Stay tuned as we advance these projects—and don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to get involved.
