Sustainability Portal

The UNIL IMD EPFL Sustainability Portal maps the projects and people working to solve pressing social and environmental challenges within the three universities. By identifying and communicating transparently about ongoing research and innovation in sustainability, the platform has the potential to unlock collaborations across universities and disciplines, and give visibility to UNIL, IMD and EPFL’s solutions towards the creation of a more sustainable planet.

The Sustainability Portal has been developed by E4S and CLIMACT in collaboration with research and sustainability services at UNIL (Centre de Compétences en Durabilité), IMD and EPFL through its Academic Vice-Presidency and Vice-Presidency for Responsible Transformation (Sustainability and Diversity).

Goals of the Sustainability Portal:
Our tool aims at helping leading experts in sustainability achieve the following actions:

  • Create networks among experts working on similar topics and enable collaborations around sustainability projects.
  • Give visibility to the ecosystem of projects and people working on sustainability research and innovation in UNIL, IMD and EPFL campuses.
  • Unlock potential funding channels by promoting initiatives among a wide and diverse external audience.
  • Bring research and innovation in line with Open Science principles

Additionally, the tool will also allow UNIL, IMD and EPFL to:

  • Map the ecosystem of sustainability research and innovation across the three institutions.
  • Facilitate reporting processes and increase external visibility of sustainability research and innovation.

How the platform works
Through a user-friendly database, users will be able to:

  • Get an overview of sustainability research and innovation projects in the three institutions’ ecosystem and understand who the main experts in different areas are.
  • Run targeted searches according to topics of interest and discover ongoing projects.
  • Connect and collaborate with key people in specific fields and contribute to the success of existing projects.
